As more and more famous Hollywood women come forward with sexual harassment allegations against Harvey Weinstein, many actors and actresses have spoken out condemning the film producer.
However, when Ben Affleck took to Twitter saying he was “saddened and angry” by the allegations against Weinstein, who he worked with on the film Good Will Hunting, actress Rose McGown, who took Weinstein to court over a sexual assault incident, quickly branded him a “liar.”
“‘GODDAMNIT! I TOLD HIM TO STOP DOING THAT’ you said that to my face,” Rose wrote in the tweet directed at Affleck. “You lie.”
A Twitter user then recalled Affleck grabbing TV host Hilarie Burton’s breast in a 2003 interview. “He also grabbed Hilarie Burton’s breasts on TRL once. Everyone forgot though.”
The post prompted a reply from the former One Tree Hill star and MTV host, who wrote: “I didn’t forget.”
Hilarie then reshared the video of the incident which shows Affleck saying “It’s so nice to see you!” before walking over to hug her. “And he wraps his arm around me and comes over and tweaks my left boob!” she recalls. Later, Affleck asks Burton, “What are you, 19?”
“Some girls like a good tweakage here and there, I’d rather have a high-five,” Hilarie says in the clip.
“Girls. I’m so impressed with you brave ones. I had to laugh back then so I wouldn’t cry. Sending love,” she wrote above the video.
Affleck took to Twitter in response, saying: “I acted inappropriately toward Ms. Burton and I sincerely apologise.”
