Lauryn Eagle, 29, tested positive to methamphetamine in a roadside test in July and now the star’s lawyer reveals she’s officially been charged.
On July 12, the featherweight boxing champion was driving in Peakhurst when she was stopped by police for a random drug and alcohol test, and allegedly tested positive to methamphetamine.
A spokeswoman for NSW Police confirmed to Daily Mail Australia that Eagle had been charged on August 2 for driving with an illicit drug in her system.
After she undertook the drug test, Eagle defended herself and spoke about the situation on Today, claiming the positive result was due to ingredients in medication she uses for narcolepsy.
While speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Houda announced that “Police are reviewing the case before it comes before the court in September.”
The star’s lawyer, Adam Houda took to Twitter to reveal that Eagle’s position on the serious situation had not been altered.
“Her prescription medications have brought about the positive result. The medical evidence will prove it,” he wrote.
