It’s an unspoken rule that guests should never upstage the bride but only Ashley Olsen could manage to steal the fashion spotlight from Jennifer Lawrence at the actress’ Rhode Island nuptials over the weekend.

Despite only having sneaky paparazzi photographs to go by, it doesn’t take a fashion critic to see the designer was crowned best dressed.
Decked in a frothy Marc Jacobs gown plucked from the label’s autumn/winter 2019 line – which saw creative director draw inspiration from ’80s couture – the 33-year-old arrived arm-in-arm with boyfriend Louis Eisner.

A look destined to grace the dance floor come dusk, the sequin-strewn frock boasted voluptuous puff-ball sleeves and a dramatic tulle train to rival the bride’s. Accessorising the only way an Olsen twin knows how, a pair of chunky Chanel sunglasses and slick barrette completed the ceremony-ready ensemble.
If anything, proof that the former actress’ go-to hue (black, durr) shouldn’t be overlooked when it comes to wedding guest dress shopping.
For those with money to throw at their friend’s forthcoming nuptials, the very Olsen twin-approved dress can be purchased on Matches Fashion for $17,984. Although it’s worth noting that it comes sans the incredible can’t-squeeze-through-doors sleeves (the number one reason why we threw heart eye emojis galore at Olsen’s latest ensemble in the first place).
But if you managed to steal your eyes away from the look for just one moment, you may have noticed that Lawrence – yes, we should probably mention the bride at some point – also pushed the sartorial boundaries at the starry affair.
According to People, the 29-year-old’s mysterious wedding gown was given its very own hotel room ahead of the ceremony. That’s one extra guest we’re pretty sure the groom didn’t expect to pay for…
“[They] held her dress in a private guest room at the Hotel Viking,” a source revealed. “The entire Dior team loaded the dress in the car the morning of the wedding.”
So far, we’ve only been teased with a preview of the big day ensemble but fingers crossed the actress shares an official photograph from her wedding very soon.
Promise us one thing? Remind us not to invite the Olsen twins to our own big day.
