A 17-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of a 43-year-old mother and well-known artist in Melbourne.
Antonia Tatchell was found dead in the bathtub of a home in Brunswick, by a family member, believed to be her son, at around 7am on January 11
Emergency services were immediately called to the scene.
Police treated Ms Tatchell’s death as suspicious with the Herald Sun reporting that she was likely known to her attacker.
“We’re speaking to neighbours and doorknocking the area just to better ascertain what, in fact, may have gone on,” Homicide squad detective Senior Sergeant Mark Colbert said at the time, reports The Australian.
On Monday afternoon a 17-year-old was charged with one count of murder. He is set to face children’s court at a later date, Victoria Police said in a statement.
