Taking to Instagram, the 36-year-old shared a black and white photo, revealing her growing baby bump and joking that itโ€™s not a movie prop. She then revealed that she struggled to get pregnant with not only this pregnancy, but with her son, Jonathan Rosebanks who was born in March 2016.

Though she didnโ€™t go into specifics, Hathaway wrote that โ€œit was not a straight lineโ€ to either of her pregnancies and sent love to everyone โ€œgoing through infertility and conception hell.โ€

During the Television Critics Association summer press tour, the actress elaborated on her struggles with pregnancy.

โ€œItโ€™s not [always a straight line]. There is a one-sided narrative to this, and of course itโ€™s wonderful that we celebrate the happy moment when itโ€™s ready to share,โ€ she told Entertainment Tonight. โ€œI think there is a silence around the moments before that and they are not all happy, and in fact, a lot of them are quite painful. I think that pain is that these women feel like weโ€™re the only ones going through it.โ€

She continued: โ€œI just knew that somewhere my announcement was going to make somebody feel worse about themselves because, and it wouldnโ€™t be their fault that that happened, you just canโ€™t help it when you want something so bad and it feels like itโ€™s happening to everyone else but you. And I just wanted that person to know that theyโ€™re included in my story too and that my story didnโ€™t just have happy moments too.โ€

Earlier this year, Hathaway revealed her decision to give up alcohol until her son turns 18. Appearing on The Ellen Degeneres Show, the Oscar-winning actress said that one early morning hangover with a young child was enough for her to opt out of alcohol altogether. โ€œI quit drinking back in October, for 18 years,โ€ she said.

โ€œIโ€™m going to stop drinking while my son is in my house just because I donโ€™t totally love the way I do it, and heโ€™s getting to an age where he really does need me all the time in the mornings. I did one school run one day where I dropped him off at school, I wasnโ€™t driving, but I was hungover and that was enough for me. I didnโ€™t love that one.โ€
