Adele has had a record-breaking run at the 2017 Grammys, winning every award she was nominated for and becoming the first artist to secure album, record and song of the year twice.
The star won Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album, but it was her final award for the night, Album of the Year, that she almost refused to accept.

Why? In an acceptance speech that was charged with emotion, Adele singled out Beyoncé’s “monumental” album Lemonade and admitted it she thinks it should have won.
“I can’t possibly accept this award,” Adele began, her voice choked with emotion. “I’m very humbled and I’m very grateful and I’m very gracious but my artist of my life is Beyoncé.”
The camera then panned to Beyoncé, who mouthed ‘I love you’ to Adele before tearing up herself. Watch the whole thing unfold below:
