Luke Perry, who played Luke McKay in Beverly Hills 90210 and currently stars as Fred in Riverdale, has died after suffering a “massive stroke”. TMZ reported that paramedics were called to Perry’s home in Sherman Oaks, California and the actor was transported to a local hospital. Perry never regained consciousness, according to People and passed away surrounded by family on March 5.
The stroke happened on the same day it was announced that the original stars of Beverly Hills 90210 have signed on to do a reboot, however, Perry is not believed to be tied to that project. His former co-stars Ian Ziering, Jason Priestley, Brian Austin Green, Tori Spelling, Jennie Garth and Gabrielle Carteris are all returning.
While Perry gained fame on 90210, he has recently been introduced to a whole new generation playing Archie Andrew’s dad on cult series Riverdale.
Perry is a father to two children, 22-year-old Jack, and 18-year-old Sophie, who he shares with his ex-wife Minnie Sharp.
