For everyone wishing that Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga were Jack and Ally from A Star is Born in real life (AKA the entire world), your dream is about to come true because the duo has been confirmed to play the movie’s theme song, ‘Shallow’, live at the Oscars.
A few months ago, Gaga said she’d perform the song “one hundred per cent,” and her on-screen lover, Cooper, backed her up telling Variety, “We talked about that actually, because I’m such a maniac. I started texting her the whole pitch of how we should do it. So we’ll see. There might be a cool, unorthodox way we could perform it.”
After the hit song was nominated in the Best Original Song category, it was announced via Twitter that the pair would indeed be singing ‘Shallow’ live during the ceremony on February 25th.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences tweeted the news with a teaser caption: “Cooper. Gaga. ‘Shallow.’ #Oscars” and naturally, the internet went into meltdown mode.
A Star Is Born cleaned up in the nominations and both Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper are up for the biggest award of the night: best actress and best actor, respectively.
Now, back to watching this on repeat for the rest of the day:
