While often the Duchess of Cambridge is restricted in her wardrobe choices whether it be by budget, royal protocol or sticking to her staple of British designers, over the weekend she threw the royal rule book out the door and had a *major* high-fashion moment – and we couldn’t love it more!
Kate and hubby Prince William were touring Paris for two days on official business following the UK’s Brexit fallout and for a visit to the Musée d’Orsay, the Eiffel Tower and a meet and greet with young rugby fans we saw a whole new Kate in a multi-coloured tweed Chanel dress.

The dress appeared to be a custom look, adapted from the French fashion house’s pre-spring 2017 collection, as one keen Kate-watcher pointed out on Twitter.
Kate topped off the look with a Chanel belt complete with the iconic ‘Cs’ as well as a micro-lady bag in burgundy, with the whole look rounding out at over $10,000.
While this might be a more expensive look for the usually frugal Duchess, she likes to honour her host nation when on a royal tour, and well it doesn’t get more French than Chanel.
It’s great to see Kate mixing things up – and we don’t think she’s ever looked better!
