Jessica Chastain channelled Old Hollywood glamour on the 2023 Oscars red carpet.
The actress, 46, who is set to present at the awards, stunned in a strapless silver gown with a velvet train, by Gucci.
The silver neckline perfectly offset her signature copper locks, which was tied together by a red lip and simple statement jewellery.
Chastain was one of many celebs to don silver at this year’s Academy Awards, which proved to be the trend of the evening among Ana De Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Malala Yousefzai and Florence Pugh. The red carpet itself was also transformed for this year’s occasion, from its usual royal red to a champagne beige colour.
Last year, Chastain took home the award for Best Actress for her role in The Eyes Of Tammy Faye. At the 2022 ceremony, she also donned a Gucci gown, but opted instead for a drastically different look, featuring a sequined ombre rose gold and purple fabric, and a feathered hemline.
Both looks are part of Chastain’s impeccable history of best-dressed red carpet moments. Among them, a black tulle gown by Christian Dior at Cannes Film Festival in 2021, and a red sequinned Atelier Versace look at Venice film festival that same year.
Chastain was also previously nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Help in 2011, and Best Actress for Zero Dark Thirty in 2013.
Also set to present at today’s ceremony is Harrison Ford, Nicole Kidman, Samuel L Jackson, Dwayne Johnson, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, John Travolta, Emily Blunt, Jennifer Connelly and Florence Pugh.
The show, which will be presented by Jimmy Kimmell for the third time, is set to kick off at 11am AEDT. You can catch all the action live on Channel Seven, or Seven’s streaming platform, 7Plus.
While Chastain is not nominated this year, vying for Best Actress is Ana De Armas, Michelle Williams, Cate Blanchett, Michelle Yeoh, and Andrea Riseborough. Stay tuned to see who takes out the coveted award.
