J.Lo Just Recreated Her Early Aughts “Love Don’t Cost A Thing” Video In Honour Of Its 20th Anniversary

Nothing has changed

In case you needed more convincing that Jennifer Lopez hasn’t aged a day since bursting onto the music scene, her latest recreation is sure to be the proof you need.

Twenty years on from releasing one of her biggest hits, “Love Don’t Cost A Thing”, J.Lo looks the spitting image of 2001 self.

Posting the video to her social media, the entertainer released a clip recreating an iconic scene from the early aughts music video in celebration of her self-titled album’s 20th anniversary.

“Happy 20th Anniversary to my 2nd album J.Lo!!!! Had a little fun at a recent shoot 😎,” Lopez wrote alongside the video.

While in the original video J.Lo opted for gold bikini bottoms and a white halter top, this time around the 51-year-old singer wore a long coat over a cropped t-shirt with her face on it and white jeans. Similar to the video, she removes her sunglasses and expensive jewellery before walking away from the camera.

Here’s the original video:

“As I reflect on the fact that it’s the #JLo20thAnniversary, I just wanted to say thank you to all of you for being with me, loving me and supporting me through all the ups and downs,” Lopez wrote alongside a series of photos from the same shoot. “Thank you so much for all the love over the past 20 years!! I love you so much!!”

Lopez celebrates her 20th anniversary the same week she graced the stage at Joe Biden and Kamal Harris’ inauguration ceremony

Performing her special rendition of “This Land Is Your Land” and “America the Beautiful,” Lopez opted for a head-to-toe white look by Chanel, making a statement of a different kind.

The ensemble was a nod to the suffragettes and included an ecru and tweed overcoat, a ruffled silk blouse, and sequined, high-waisted trousers. Notably, she chose to accessorise with pearl bracelets as another nod to Kamala Harris’ ode to pearls.
