If there is one woman in the world that defies age, it’s JLo. Now, as she turns 50 (yes, we know), we’ve been wondering how she manages to never look a day over 30. While it’s most-likely all in the genes (blessed), we think her beauty routine may help a little too.
From her debut onto the pop scene in the 90s, to all the red carpet premieres for her classic film roles (Maid In Manhattan, anyone?), she’s always rocked a forward-thinking beauty look. Whether it’s a big babydoll ponytail or blurred ruby lips, this girl knows how to look good.
To celebrate her recent birthday, we’re looking back through the archives at all of her best before and after beauty moments.
Warning: you may want to throw out the nude pallettes and go retro after reading this.
She kept the 90s going by always rocking a cute up-do and paired back makeup.
And we make it to the 2000s to see where Ariana Grande has got her complete look from.
But JLO kept trying to channel the ultimate 90s hair (the ‘Rachel’) as the 2000s wore on.
But that didn’t last long, as she adopted a major hair transformation in 2005. We call this the serious look.
She kept the curls going too, going very Marilyn Monroe.
As she got older, her beauty became bolder and she was seen rocking a cherry lip more often (thank goodness). Her dewy skin was the perfect match for the Gucci dress she donned at the 2011 Met Gala.
As usual, she’s ahead of the beauty curve working blurred lips (which, coincidentally, you can see how to do here).
The tight top bun is goals for so many of us, yet she (of course) nails it.
When it 2014 hit, slicked back hair was JLo’s go-to.
And soon after, she pulled it all back into a ponytail which went perfectly with her copper beauty touches.
Over a decade later, we find our way back to the chic serious bob. This time, it was all about that glamour.
And now, we make it to the 2015 Met Gala: the epitome of JLo glam.
JLo attended a premiere in 2016 sporting her go-to bronze smokey eye and nude glossy lips.
Slicked hair and dramatic eyelashes stole the show at the People’s Choice Awards in 2017.
JLo proves that slicked back hair is here to stay at an event in 2017.
