Fans of Beanie Feldstein and American Crime Story behold, the first trailer at the third instalment of the cult series is here, and it’s every bit as perfect as we hoped.
The third season titled Impeachment centres around the infamous impeachment trial of Bill Clinton following his affair with Monica Lewinsky, who was then a 22-year-old White House intern.
In August, the first official series poster dropped, featuring 28-year-old Feldstein standing before the White House.
In case you hadn’t already got goosebumps from that striking first image, series distributors FX have now shared a full trailer—it looks every bit as gripping as the real life case which was avidly watched by the world back in the 1990s.
To make things all the more accurate, Lewinsky herself is an executive producer on the series. Creator Ryan Murphy revealed how that came about, telling The Hollywood Reporter: “I told her, ‘Nobody should tell your story but you… If you want to produce it with me, I would love that; but you should be the producer and you should make all the goddamn money’.”
Here, we break down everything to know about the new series, including its star-studded cast, release date and trailer.
Who is in the cast of Impeachment: American Crime Story?
Beanie Feldstein will feature as central character Monika Lewinsky, a White House intern who strikes up an affair with the President of the United States in the mid-1990s.
Meanwhile the man in question Bill Clinton will be played by celebrated actor Clive Owen. Edie Falco of The Sopranos notoriety will play Hillary Clinton.
Joining the iconic screen stalwarts is How I Met Your Mother‘s Cobie Smulders, who plays journalist Ann Coulter. Annaleigh Ashford will play Paula Jones.
Sarah Paulson also joins the cast as Linda Tripp, the woman who secretly recorded her calls with Lewinsky and played a vital part in the impeachment case.
As though she heard our beck and call, Sarah shared her incredible transformation into Linda while filming the series late last year.
Is there a trailer for Impeachment: American Crime Story?
After FX released a short sneak peek of Feldstein as Lewinsky walking the west wing of the White House, the network then shared a full trailer for the upcoming miniseries. In the preview, we get our first proper look at Clive Owen as Clinton, Edie Falco as his famed wife and the incredible performance from Beanie, who’s depiction of Lewinsky is perfect.
