This year, Meghan, Harry and baby Archie decided to do Christmas a little differently – away from the traditional proceedings associated with the royal family’s annual trip to Sandringham, and instead, enjoying “private family time” in Canada with Meghan’s mother, Doria. Until now, we haven’t had much knowledge about the Sussex’s whereabouts (note: “private family time”), but we’ve finally been able to sneak a look inside the $20 million mansion where Archie spent his first Christmas!

It had been speculated as early as last week that the couple had taken up residency on Vancouver Island, in a lavish waterfront property surrounded trees and plenty of grass for Archie to play outside. With no shortage of space, the property is set on a massive four-acres and boasts four bedrooms – plenty of room to accommodate the Duke and Duchess as well as any A-list friends that may come to visit.

Inspired by French country décor, the main house spreads across 11,416 square feet and has two beach access points. Meanwhile the guest cottage, also located on the property, has another three bedrooms across 2,349 square feet of space.

Oh, and did we mention there’s a huge two-storey living room, pizza oven, games room and a wine tasting room? Not bad for a quiet family holiday.

According to locals, the mansion is currently owned by a ‘mysterious’ multi-millionaire, after being purchased for almost $20 million in 2012. Despite its grandeur and incredible facilities, the house often remains empty for most of the year, making the royal’s visit a welcomed change.
