Hailey Bieber (née Baldwin) and Justin Bieber may have secretly tied the knot in a civil ceremony in New York City last year, but the couple is reportedly in the midst of planning a second ceremony.
Justin and Hailey married at a New York City courthouse on September 13, which was later revealed after TMZ posted a picture of the couple entering the marriage license centre. The singer reportedly cried during the emotional visit telling his fiancé, “I can’t wait to marry you, baby,” a source said. People confirmed the following day Bieber and Baldwin did tie the knot at the courthouse.
Justin and Hailey, despite being legally married, wanted to have a religious ceremony with their families and friends, which was originally meant to take place in January but was postponed.

Here’s everything we know about the upcoming Bieber-Baldwin nuptials.
Date
Despite having postponed their ceremony for a third time, planning is fully underway, an insider said, with the “wedding party being styled, dancers in rehearsals, and Justin’s personal DJ, Tay James, set to provide music” for the event. Earlier this month, People also reported that the couple were having trouble picking a new date.
“They’re working with the schedules of all their friends and family to make sure they can be surrounded by the people they love,” a source said. “There’s no real rush. They’re already legally married, but they’re very excited about throwing a celebration with their loved ones.”
Us Weekly reports the Biebers are ready to start planning again, slowly, and with a vague but meaningful date in mind.
“They’ve talked about possibly having their wedding closer to the anniversary of their marriage, in September,” a source told the outlet. But truth be told, Baldwin and Bieber don’t see their wedding as their number one priority. Bieber’s health is. The singer started getting treatment for depression in February.
Ceremony
Hailey’s dad Stephen Baldwin is speaking out about why his daughter and her husband Justin want to have a religious second wedding. He told TMZ, “I just think that as Christians and as believers they understand that if you don’t have the God’s spirit working in your marriage it just makes it more and more difficult to make it work and have peace and find happiness.”
“Weddings and marriage are supposed to be a holy commitment, one onto another.”
Where
Justin and Hailey’s upcoming wedding is reported to be happening in the singer’s home country of Canada, TMZ reports.
Guest list
Just weeks after the couple tied the knot, a source told ET, “Justin and Hailey have been telling friends they want to have a smaller wedding, with close family and friends, nothing too over the top.”
Hailey’s uncle Billy Baldwin also gave insight into who was getting an invite.
“Who’s going to be tearing up the dance floor? It’s going to be Hailey and all of her Kardashian girlfriends,” Billy reported during an etalk interview. “Gigi [Hadid] and Kendall [Jenner] and all the rest.” It should come as no surprise that Gigi and Kendall will be there to support Hailey on her big day. The three models are very close friends, and have both been an active part of Justin and Hailey’s relationship timeline.
Billy, who has been married to wife Chynna Phillips for 28 years, gave his niece some advice.
“I’ve told Hailey repeatedly that I could give her a lot of advice regarding what it’s like to be in a long term relationship,” Baldwin said. “Chynna and I have been together since 1991. We’re both in the business; they’re both in the business.”
“I told her [to call] if she ever wants to sit down and talk about some of the pitfalls and some of the successes and what we’ve done to try and keep the relationship,” Billy shared. “I said don’t hesitate to call me just for you and I to talk or if the four of us want to get together and have a share about how we’ve been able to be successful for—geez, it’s been 28 years now!”

Bridal Party
The 22-year-old model confirmed to The Cut that she had asked older sister Alaia to be her bridesmaid. Hailey also hopes Bieber’s 10-year-old sister, Jazmyn, can be the flower girl.
The model’s aunt, Kim Basinger, previously teased that both Alaia and Ireland Baldwin – her daughter with Alec Baldwin and Hailey’s cousin – would be “in the wedding.”
“Oh, it’ll be fun. Alaia and Ireland, they’re in the wedding,” Basinger told Us Weekly. “So believe me, I just — it’s cool! I think it’s sweet. It’s a very sweet thing.”
Hailey’s dad Stephen said, “My only job is just walking my princess down the aisle.”
Groomsmen
Post Malone told TMZ that he hopes to play a role in the wedding, whether it be performing or in the bridal party. “I would love to perform. For free. I’ll be the flower boy or is that the ring bearer? He’s very happy and I love to see my boy happy.”

Venue
“I think having it in the woods would be so beautiful,” Baldwin told The Cut of her ideal location. She added that she has a wedding planner looking for a spot on the West Coast, despite speculation that she and Bieber may wed in Canada.
Wherever Hailey and Justin’s ceremony ends up taking place, expect a lot of lighting. “I just picture lights strung everywhere,” she said.
