It was reported this morning that 57-year-old George Clooney has been rushed to hospital following a ‘horror’ car crash in Sardinia.
According to reports, the actor was on his way to a film set on the Italian island, when his scooter collided with a car, smashing the Mercedes windscreen.
He was rushed to the island’s John Paul II Hospital following the ‘horror’ crash, but while injured, he is not believed to be in critical condition.
Wife Amal rushed to his side and the couple were later seen leaving the hospital together.
“George was treated and released from an Olbia hospital. He is recovering at home and will be fine,” a representative for Clooney told People.
The actor has been living in the luxury Mediterranean spot with his wife, Amal Clooney, and children, while filming TV mini series Catch 22 – based on Joseph Heller’s iconic novel.
Clooney announced in April that he would be stepping back from acting in the Hulu production so that he could focus on directing, but following his accident today, it is not known whether filming for the six-episode mini-series will have to be delayed.
