We can only imagine how desperately the luxury fashion houses fought for Zendaya to front their brands in 2023.
After turning look after look for the past seven years, the 26-year-old actress has earned her place as the style icon of a generation.
Now, the queen has spoken… and she’s chosen Louis Vuitton.
Louis Vuitton announced Zendaya as its new house ambassador, starting with a campaign for the classic Capucines bag.
The brand declared the Euphoria actress “personified the dreamy energy of the Côte d’Azur” (per the campaign’s theme) and “brings a playful vibrancy” to the Capucines legacy.
The campaign was shot at the E-1027 Roquebrune-Cap-Martin house—a modernist villa on the French coast designed by Irish architect Eileen Gray.
The campaign features Zendaya in neutral-coloured clothing with flashes of elegant gold jewellery and—of course—the Capucines bag in white, black and blue.
The Capucines handbag was first launched in 2013 and is named after the Paris street where Louis Vuitton opened his first store in 1854.
Fashion fans will be pleased to hear that styling for the shoot was executed by Zendaya’s famed former stylist, Law Roach.
“My one and only girl for [Louis Vuitton] styled by me,” Roach posted to his Instagram.
Earlier this year, Roach sent shockwaves through the fashion industry when he announced his retirement from biz. Zendaya was one of his first clients and their frequent collaborations won both praise and envy from the fashion elite.
This is not Zendaya’s first time as the face of a major luxury brand. Since 2020, she has been an ambassador for Italian designer, Valentino.
She has also fronted campaigns for Bulgari, which also falls within the Louis Vuitton house of brands.
