The tote gets its name and luxurious upswing from the sculpted gold YSL monogram that glistens in the centre – creative director Anthony Vaccarello’s team say the letters “shine like the sun that burnt the wings of Icarus”.
Available in matte and gloss, it’s the last piece to drop from Saint Laurent’s spring/summer 2022 collection, marked by power dressing, jewel colours and the spirit of Paloma Picasso.
As it stands, it’s also the perfect entry point to Vaccarello’s darker vision for autumn/winter 2022, inspired by the leather-clad 1920s activist Nancy Cunard.
