The temperatures have officially dropped — and you know what that means. It’s time to swap out those autumn knits for something a little more substantial. So while you dig out your coats and figure out what to don now the weather has cooled down, never fear, we’re here to help.
We’ve rounded our favourite micro trends we spotted at Sydney Fashion Week and around the world, picking up on what chic wintery ladies are wearing this winter. From patterned coats to the newest stripe in the concrete jungle, there’s plenty to keep your eye out for this season. Below, five to start with. Now, rug up!
Kaleidoscope furs
Bye bye, leopard spots, this season is all about the patchwork-style colouring on faux fur. Take cues from the most stylish women in Copenhagen for a go-to guide on how to best mix in bright hues.
Knotted leather
Whether it’s your longline leather jacket or your clutch, opt for knotted leather to make a cool weather statement.
Cropped raincoats
Ok, they might not be the most practical, but a great piece of outerwear needs to push boundaries in order to get our attention. Pair yours with high waisted jeans and a turtleneck for a chic take on layering.
Mellow yellow
Jackets need not be boring, just add a healthy dose of buttery yellow. Seen here in Denmark and Sydney, a sunny yellow jacket is sure to bring energy to even the bleakest of days.
Caution, zebra crossing!
Move over, tiger and leopard, zebra is here to stay. Making its rounds with the street style set, zebra is the unexpected animal print we guarantee will be everywhere in a few months. If you haven’t already, invest, stat.
