The cheekbones! The scarlet lace custom-made Valentino! The accessories! We’re talking five-inch blood red platform sandals, a blue ACLU ribbon and ruby-red tiara.
Who’s that girl?
Ruth Negga, 35, is the half-Ethiopian, half-Irish actor who plays Joel Edgerton’s beloved in Loving.
Her role in Jeff Nicholls’s gut-wrenchingly fabulous drama about interracial marriage set in the 1950s sees her nominated for Best Actress today.
If you ask us, she’s already a contender for best dressed. We can’t think of anyone else who could pull off this headband without looking like a Disney princess.
Negga has a fashion edge – she’s a fan of Rodarte and Gucci, and told the LA Times this week her style inspirations run from French cool girls Lou Doillon and Charlotte Gainsbourg to wild 1960s cabaret singer Eatha Kitt.
Her stylist is Kara Welch, who also works with Olivia Wilde and Alexis Bledel from Gilmore Girls.
Negga is fashion’s newest crush and ours too.
