If you ask us, the only thing that ruins well-laid plans more than wind (the greatest of threats to a good hair day), is rain. And, unfortunately for us, we’re in for a long summer of both.
Thanks to the La Niña weather pattern bringing a barrage of wind, rain and cool temperatures in the months ahead, we can bid adieu to picnics in the park, long beach days and, most upsettingly, cute summery outfits.
There’s good chance you’ve already fallen victim to a La Niña-induced wardrobe dilemma or malfunction. If you’re anything like us, there’s one particular department you’re probably struggling with most: shoes.
It’s one thing to throw a jacket over a dress or keep your favourite jeans in rotation, but finding a pair of summery shoes that can brave a minefield of puddles is a no easy task.
We suggest opting for a chunky sandal (still summery, but with a thick enough base water doesn’t seep straight in), an on-trend loafer, or the most water-resistent of them all – the all-rubber shoe.
