Synonymous with her elegant, glamorous, powerfully independent character Princess Margaret seen in The Crown, Vanessa Kirby has transition those attributes into her latest project—this time with iconic French maison, Cartier.
The Oscar nominee is the brand’s newest ambassador, and will kick things off by revealing its new La Panthère perfume, which fittingly embodies a “wild, feminine spirit” according to Kirby.
“To be aligned with a house that has a real appreciation for—and commitment to—philanthropy, women’s empowerment, conservation and arts and culture, powered by the extraordinary team at Cartier, is truly inspiring,” the actor shared in an official statement.
Kirby’s list of accolades are inspiring, too. After starting out in theatre in the early 2010s, she was quickly scouted for the big screen and was cast alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in 2015 film Everest and television drama The Dresser, which starred Sir Ian McKellen.
But it was her big break in Netflix’s The Crown in 2016 that really propelled her into global fame and earned her Emmy nomination and a British Academy Television Award win.
She has since starred in a slew of major films including 2018’s Mission Impossible, 2020 film Pieces Of A Woman (for which she was nominated for an Oscar), and 2022 film, The Son.
These days, Kirby continues to pave a trailblazing path in cinema, and her latest ambassadorship is a sign that she’s far from finished.
“Kirby is a free spirit who has the boldness of her convictions, both in her roles in cinema and in life,” Cartier’s Senior Vice President Chief Marketing Officer Arnaud Carrez said in a statement, adding that her “magnetism” embodies a strength shared with the brand’s “emblematic panther”.
And while her stint on The Crown is over, it seems Kirby’s next chapter will be as on-brand (and regal) as ever.
