Ginger & Smart has, this morning, been announced as the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival‘s (VAMFF) 2018 Grand Showcase designer.
The iconic Australian label is set to show its Autumn Winter 2018 collection on Thursday 8 March 2018 in a spectacular runway show, continuing VAMFF’s annual tradition of highlighting one of the country’s most notable designers.
Previous years have seen Dion Lee, Camilla & Marc and Camilla debut their new collections in the stunning Royal Exhibition Building.
“For the Ginger & Smart Grand Showcase we will be showing our Winter 18 Collection, inspired by Augmented Reality and technology. We were drawn to the blurred line between what is real or computer generated, and how this alters our senses,” Genevieve Smart of Ginger & Smart said in a statement.
“This collection explores the tension between future and nature and the magic created by the balance of these contrasts. Expect to see artisanal textural fabrication, luminous colour and bold accessories in a curated anthology of Ginger & Smart.”
