The New York Fashion Week Spring 2020 shows have one purpose: For designers to present their collections for the upcoming season to buyers and media alike. But for Tommy Hilfiger, it’s all about changing the game.

The brands signature ‘See Now, Buy Now’ concept will showcase the second Tommy x Zendaya collection, co-designed with actress Zendaya. The NYFW show will continue the celebration of inclusion, diversity and empowerment that Tommy Hilfiger and Zendaya brought to the TOMMYNOW runway in Paris for Spring 2019. Returning for the first time to New York City since it premiered there in Fall 2016, this will be the latest stop of a worldwide tour.
The show, held at the iconic Apollo Theatre in Harlem, was attended by celebrity guests such as Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, Olivia Palermo, Suki Waterhouse and Shanina Shaik.
The collection saw era-defining ’70s and ’80s power dressing redefined with a bold and modern edge. Sartorial tailoring and scarf dressing stood out with sophisticated constellation and sleek animal motifs. Warm burgundy hues mixed with metallics and monochrome palettes gave it a fresh edge.
The New York show follows the high-powered productions in Paris for Spring 2019, in Shanghai for Fall 2018, in Milan for Spring 2018, in London for Fall 2017, in Los Angeles for Spring 2017, as well as the Fall 2016 New York City debut.
“After travelling the world with TOMMYNOW and an unforgettable show in Paris with Zendaya, I’m excited to return to where our ‘See Now, Buy Now’ journey started,” said Tommy Hilfiger. “Zendaya’s desire to bring TOMMYNOW to Harlem felt like an amazing next step in expressing her vision for the future. Her statement-making point of view in everything she does is what makes her such an inspiring collaborator – it is an honour to continue to provide her with a platform in the fashion industry to share this.”
