Our Favourite Moments From VAMFF 2019

What we loved

It came, we saw, it conquered: Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival has come and gone for another year, with 2019 being its best yet. Bringing in supermodels, iconic designers and fabulous activations for guests from March 1 to March 10, the biggest fashion festival in Australia didn’t disappoint. Here, we’ve rounded up our favourite moments from the week that was, including memorable shows and the beauty pop-up we couldn’t get enough of.

The street style

Never failing to impress, attendees at VAMFF 2019 pulled out all the stops to have the best outfits. From trendy bike shorts to matchy-matchy suits, all our favourite new season buys were on display outside the shows.

Priceline’s all-pink pop-up

One of the most anticipated pop-ups of the week, Priceline’s all-pink space was a hub for all beauty lovers. With make-up touch ups, skin consultations and somewhere to get your hair looked at by professionals, Priceline was the place to be — and with guests like Jesinta Franklin and model Rachel Rutt, visitors were in good company. But the best part? A complimentary vending machine, spitting out some of our favourite beauty products and our first look at the Finders Keepers and MISHA Collection limited edition cosmetic bags (available in store now). Heaven.

marie claire’s International Women’s Day breakfast

Hosting the most exciting event of the week (we’re a little biased), marie claire held an International Women’s Day breakfast with some of Australia’s brightest and boldest women. Our editor Nicky Briger sat down with fashion designer Camilla Franks, actresses Miranda Tapsell and Asher Keddie, politician Julia Banks and Code Like A Girl’s Ally Watson for a conversation about feminism, work/life balance and the glass ceiling. You can catch up on all the highlights from the event here.

Ashley Graham’s Australian debut

Visiting Australia for the first time, supermodel Ashley Graham made a serious splash when she took to the runway as the week’s most special of guests. A champion of body diversity, Graham’s presence at the annual fashion week marks a step forward for the industry, embracing curvy bodies and putting inclusivity to front of mind.
