The close of international fashion week always brings with it so many trend wrap up stories it makes your head spin. From the standout runway pieces, to everything worn in the front row and on the streets, it’s overwhelming trying to figure out which pieces to actually invest in going forwards.
For advice that’s second to none, it’s best to look to those who have made a career out of looking good. From Olivia Palermo to Alexa Chung and Chiara Ferragni, below, the new season pieces the fashion pack are wearing (and which also happen to be sitting pretty in our shopping cart).
1/ Clashing prints
First, it was the Realisation Par leopard print skirt that went viral, then it was Ganni floral dresses and Zara snakeskin shirts. It’s official: prints are back in – and the streets of fashion month prove, the more the better (as seen above on British fashion journalist, Pandora Sykes). We love the length and style of this Calvin Klein Chiffon Full Length Tunic.
2/ Caramel tones
When taking a break from rotating your new snakeskin shirt and floral tunic, you’ll be pleased to hear that earthy tones such as caramel and copper are still very much on trend. Of course, with the weather warming up we won’t be investing in a coat like Alexa Chung’s (pictured above), but we will be investing in a pair of tran-seasonal beige trousers, such as Calvin Klein’s Cotton Stretch Trouser.
3/Barely there heels
Started by the likes of Celine and The Row, thankfully, for us Down Under (who have watched the northern hemisphere summer while rugged up in coats), the strappy, barely there heels trend isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. For a style that will last the distance, try Calvin Klein’s Lancy Nappa heels in black.
4/ Elevated slides
Sorry, Rihanna but furry, Puma slides are out and chic, elevated slides are in. Think tan colours, big buckles and smooth leather. Calvin Klein’s Patreece slides tick all the boxes.
5/ Barbie pink
Millennial pink’s sister, Barbie pink, has taken over the streets, runway and red carpet with everyone from Kim Kardashian through to Chiara Ferragni (pictured above) and Victoria Beckham spotted in the playful hue.
6/ A fresh white sneaker
Sure, sneakers have been the footwear flavour of the moment for what feels like forever, but through all the micro trends that’s come with the athleisure craze – dad sneakers, retro kicks and even granddad sneakers – classic white trainers have remained a firm favourite of celebrities, royals (Kate Middleton included) and street style stars, such as Olivia Palermo (pictured above) who wore hers to New York Fashion Week recently. Our pick? Calvin Klein’s Madie Kansas White Sneakers, which, with the addition of branding on the shoe’s outside, ticks off the logo mania trend, too.
