It seems we’ve finally hit peak French girl obsession with a cardigan by affordable Parisian label, Sézane, racking up an insane wait list.
The ‘Barry’ cardigan, which comes in light grey, ecru, nude and black, first launched in September and has sold out multiple times since, thanks to bloggers, such as Julie Sarinana and Courtney Halverson, putting it on the map (read: feed).
Currently, the piece, which retails at approx $148 AUD, has 30,000 people signed up to be notified when it’s restocked, The Independent reports.
Thankfully, patient fans won’t have to wait too long, as a drop is expected both today and again on December 13.
Described on Sézane’s website as “a relaxed cardigan that can be worn frontwards or backwards,” the ‘Barry’ is the definition of understated French chic.
It doesn’t hurt that it’s modelled by Victoria’s Secret model and rumoured girlfriend of Harry Styles, Camille Rowe, either.
“If worn backwards, it will appear as a boatneck with the V-cut and buttons in the back adding a touch of intrigue and can slip off the shoulder for a sexy, tousled look.”
Even though it’s summer on this side of the globe – and other coveted French label, Rouje, would be better suited to the current temperatures – we can’t help thinking it could be worth stocking up for next winter in advance.
Wait list now 30,001.
