It’s only day two of Paris Fashion Week, and already a small miracle has occurred: at Saint Laurent, the models walked on water.
Models waded their way down a watery runway – the Trocadero Fountain in the heart of Paris – with rows of illuminated white palm trees and the Eiffel Tower as their backdrop.
Fittingly, Saint Laurent creative director Anthony Vaccarello sent a strong line of swimsuits (dominated by plunging black one-pieces) down the runway, along with velvet blazers, sheer, star-studded blouses, and black, black, black, seen on everything from sweeping evening gowns to tuxedos to shift dresses glittering with diamantes and embellished stars and hearts.
The front row was as fierce as the fashion, with Lindsay Lohan, Alison Brie, Dave Franco, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Zoe Kravitz all in attendance in the new S/S ’19 Saint Laurent collection.
