But before we even get the chance to shop the look, it’s either sold out or has already been overshadowed by the next latest and greatest viral fashion trend.
The ability to discover a new designer before they’ve been, well, ‘discovered’ is certainly fine art. Luckily, for all our fashion-obsessed readers out there, this is where we come in handy.
Before we get too deep into the new year, we wanted to share some of our new, favourite fashion labels that you should definitely be paying extra attention to this year. From sustainable denim to sculpture-inspired jewellery and everything in-between, these are the brands that will be filling our wardrobes in 2020.
With Jean
This homegrown, Australian label created by two friends in 2017 has garnered the interest of fashion icon, Bella Hadid, who was recently spotted in the brand’s popular Marseille dress. In addition to their gorgeous designs and patterns, every item is ethically manufactured and produced, using natural fabrics such as cotton, linen and rayon.
Inspired by the sun-soaked cobbles of the south of France and featuring a palette awash with pastel shades, With Jean’s Prarie crop tops and lightweight sundresses are the perfect accompaniment to your next European adventure.

Peter Do
If innovative and intriguing design is your bag, then look no further than New York City based designer and brand, Peter Do. There’s never been a question about Do’s success as a designer – from winning the LVMH Graduates Prize in 2014, to working for then Creative Director Phoebe Philo of Céline (and alongside Bottega Veneta visionary, Daniel Lee). His offerings include a mix of elevated and contemporary items from sheer graphic tops to tailored cut out blazers.

Apparis
Although we are still in the midst of summer, it’s never too early to begin thinking ahead for the cooler months. This is where 100 per cent PETA-approved vegan and cruelty-free outerwear brand, Apparis comes into the mix. The label was launched in 2016 by co-founders Amelie Brick and Lauren Nouchi and features a range of gorgeous faux fur coats in a variety of styles and colours. Ditch the darker hues and elevate your coat game with one of their brighter designs this winter – the violet purple and neon green are our personal favourites!

Completedworks
The going saying is that a good piece of jewellery is synonymous with a work of art. This sentiment could not ring truer when it comes to contemporary jewellery brand, Completedworks. Every piece in Anne Jewbury’s collection resembles mini sculptures and contemporary art pieces that would fit right in at some of the world’s most iconic museums. In 2015, the brand was selected to become part of the British Fashion Council’s celebrated Rock Vault initiative, which showcases and promote Britain’s most innovative fine jewellery talent.

B Sides
A great pair of denim jeans is the key to a well-rounded wardrobe, which is why you need to know about the latest beloved denim brand in town this year, B Sides. Founder Claire Lampert and Stacy Daily source all their denim from “family-owned mills in Georgia and North Carolina that have provided workwear textiles to farm supply stores since the 19th century.” The vintage-like touches that define their designs are inspired by Lampert and Daily’s love for imperfection – all the while, placing comfort and sustainability at the core of their brand.
