One of the biggest words flung around fashion month this season was ‘sustainable’ with the industry’s biggest power players, we’re talking the likes of Gucci, Burberry and Gabriela Hearst, proudly showcasing their first ever carbon neutral collections across all four capitals.
Founder Sally Birch has made it her job to scour the globe for high fashion vintage scarves with labels such as Hermès, Louis Vuitton and Chanel stitched into the seams.
After stuffing her suitcase with an assortment of treasures guaranteed to please every fashion magpie, she heads back to Sydney and reworks them into seriously covetable accessories from scrunchies and headbands to barrettes.
Destined to grace your Instagram grid from the get-go, the logo-emblazoned scrunchies are sure to look chic twirled into a low bun while a $265 vintage Hermès headband will see you tackle two major spring/summer trends in one fell (rather fashionable) swoop.
Those planning to make like the millennial supermodel set, we’re talking Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner et al, might want to add a couple of hair slides to their shopping basket too.
Hands up, who else is after these $75 Gucci numbers? They deserve all of the heart-eye emojis on offer that’s for sure…
The greatest part is that each piece is one-of-a-kind – certainly not something you’ll spot on the Zara shelves this season.
“Apart from being extremely beautiful, I love that there is so much history and a story behind each and every one,” Birch writes on the site. “Each Hermès scarf can take up to 18 months to produce from design conception to the creation of hand etched screens and the colour selection, right down to the hand rolled and stitched edges. I try to, where ever possible incorporate this hand stitched hem into each and every scrunchie.”

If that isn’t enough to convince you, Birch has even come up with the perfect “snap back factor” for the scrunchie line which means you won’t fall victim to any accessory-related headaches by the end of the day.
