According To A Study These Are The 3 Items Not Worth Packing On A Holiday

There's a lot to unpack

It’s almost a guarantee to overpack for a holiday. From too many pairs of swimmers (I once took seven bikinis on a three day beach holiday) to shoes that just don’t need to be there, there’s something about packing your bag for a getaway that just doesn’t translate to what you actually need for the holiday. Now, a study has proven it.

A study by Trunk Club has found 62 per cent of American travellers overpack for a holiday. The culprit? Three items in particular.

Jackets, long-sleeved shirts and socks were ranked as the items most likely not to be worn. Likely due to overpacking of all of the above, especially socks, we think the results say something about our love of packing multiples of everything when in reality we only need one jacket.

The study also found that three out of five travellers end up having to buy something while away despite having chronically overpacked in every other sense. Further, it noted how travellers find packing one of the most stressful parts of travel, second only to going through airport security.

The takeaway? Put down that extra jacket and only pack enough socks for the days you’ll actually be wearing them.
