It’s always awkward when someone arrives in the same dress as you but it’s even more uncomfortable when it’s to an event watched by thousands.

Luckily for Olivia Wilde and Margaret Zhang, their very similar Met Gala dresses offered two very different looks.

Margaret Zhang,  Editor-in-Chief of Vogue China arrived at the Met Gala in a black gown with a unique violin-shaped embellishment and midriff bearing cut-outs.

Coincidentally, Don’t Worry Darling director Olivia Wilde, arrived in a very similar dress—only in white.

Fortunately, the two women have taken very different approaches to the dress, which pays tribute to a vintage Chloé design.

With white and gold tones, matching gold cuffs and a flowing top half of the dress, Wilde’s approach evokes a Grecian goddess aesthetic.

Zhang, on the other hand, takes an edgier approach, pairing the dress’s darker tones and longer train with her iconic blue hair and dark sunglasses.

We love seeing two women take completely different approaches to a similar style dress, and honestly—we’re completely obsessed with both looks.
