Two of the world’s most-loved fashion houses, Acne Studios and Mulberry, have teamed up to create a new collection of bags and small leather goods, marrying Swedish design with English charm to create this season’s must-have pieces. Key styles have been given a fresh twist in the limited-edition range, such as the Musubi bag by Acne and the Bayswater by Mulberry.
Under the Creative Direction of Johnny Coca, Mulberry has been re-invented itself in recent years and has become a progressive fashion house appealing to a new generation of millennials. The latest initiative brings even more hype, representing the best of both brands through Coca and John Johansson’s creative designs. The collection focuses on Mulberry’s expertise of leather bags and features Acne Studio’s recognisable folded bow in the centre.
“This is a collection about friendship and our freedom as brands to do what we want to do,” says Jonny Johansson of the creative collaboration. “It is like a conversation between Acne Studios and Mulberry, one that is founded in mutual respect and a desire to make great products.”
“The collaboration is a perfect manifestation of the spirit of both our brands,” Thierry Andretta, CEO of Mulberry adds. “It showcases Acne Studios’ wonderful Swedish design ethos and celebrates both the British heritage and modernity of Mulberry.”
The limited-edition capsule collection launches November 5 at selected Mulberry and Acne Stores stores.
