The MTV Video Music Awards have long been a platform to make a major fashion statement. Not to be confused with its Awards season cousin The Grammys, the VMAs are a time for the best in music to really let their hair down a little.
The 2021 red carpet proved the feat to a tee this year. After a 12 month stint of virtual red carpets, popular and emerging talent in the music industry went all out by bringing style, electricity and a touch of the eccentric to their red carpet ensembles.
We had Camila Cabello in a colour-blocked Alexis Mabille gown. The there was Kacey Musgraves in Valentino Haute Couture. And of course one couldn’t look past Lil Nas X in stunning lilac Versace.
The event took place at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York this year, with Doja Cat hosting the main ceremony.
With the likes of Jennifer Lopez presenting and Alicia Keys performing, it was a true celebrity affair that celebrated musical talent in all its glorious forms.
