Andrew Bolton, the curator in charge of the Costume Institute at the museum, has confirmed the theme for the 2020 ball is โAbout Time: Fashion and Duration.โ The event will mark the Metโs 150th anniversary and will be partly inspired by Virginia Woolf and the theories of the early-20th-century French philosopher Henri Bergson, The New York Times has revealed.
โFashion is indelibly connected to time,โ Bolton explained of the theme. โIt not only reflects and represents the spirit of the times, but it also changes and develops with the times.โ

The night will be chaired by Nicolas Ghesquiรจre of Louis Vuitton, Emma Stone, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Anna Wintour, and Meryl Streep, who will be attending her first ever Met Gala.
