These boots debuted on Balenciaga’s Spring ’17 runway in Paris, and since then people have been going properly nuts for them. Call it the Demna Gvasalia effect. Call it the 1980s revival effect. Whatever you call it, it’s hot.
Salma Hayek, who is married to Francois Henri-Pinault, Chairman of Balenciaga’s parent company Kering, just rocked them to the Met Gala too.
On first glance she looked rather conservative in her deep navy high-necked gown. But when she walked, its generous skirts revealed generous splits. And flashing beneath them? The boots of the moment – in cobalt blue.
