Ever pondered what the world’s most iconic duo could be? Meghan Markle and New York City is the only answer. Somehow, the Duchess of Sussex always manages to pull off the ultimate photo opportunity whenever she’s in the city that never sleeps—and a lot of that comes down to her perfect style choices.
There was last year’s quick visit to Manhattan where she was seen in her signature wide-legged trousers and camel coat, plus, an appearance from that maroon Loro Piana coat. Then there was November’s visit to the Salute to Freedom gala where she hit the red carpet in a stunning Carolina Herrera floor-length gown.
And now, she’s somehow one-upped the latter by stepping out in no less than three stunning outfits in the space of 24 hours while visiting the Big Apple with Prince Harry.
On Monday, July 18, Markle attended the UN General Assembly wearing a black top and skirt combo by one of her personal favourite designers, Givenchy.
The corporate look was reminiscent of her Suits days, which was apt given she was in the city where the series was set.
In the afternoon, Markle made a quick outfit change into a pair of tailored shorts and a simple white shirt for a special lunch with her longtime friend, Gloria Steinem.
The Duchess was pictured by paparazzi leaving a restaurant with the famed feminist and journalist—apparently NYC posed the perfect opportunity for them to catch up. The pair were last seen together in 2020 when they were filmed sitting Markle’s backyard sharing a candid conversation about the importance of voting.
To end Markle’s the jam-packed day of activities in New York, she stepped out with husband Prince Harry to dine at Tribeca hot spot, Locanda Verde.
It seems she was saving the best for last, because her Gabriela Hearst jumpsuit (worth a cool $4,790) was a slam dunk in the game of style.
Strapless, flared at the bottom and in simple black and white hues, Markle was oozing NYC cool girl energy, elevated further with the addition of a Bottega Veneta burgundy pouch.
And with that, Markle’s trifecta of NYC outfits was complete. The royal couple will now return back to their home in Santa Barbara, California where they continue to work on their charitable foundation, Archewell while raising their two children Archie, three, and Lilibet, one.
Here’s hoping it won’t be long until their next NYC visit!
