We already know that Meghan Markle always wears heels a size too big, but now we know the reason she always wears heels, full stop. And no, it’s not for fashion.
For their first official tour of Ireland, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex spent two-days in Dublin, during which the Meghan debuted a total of four stunning outfits.
On the couple’s final afternoon, they visited Croke Park where Meghan had to walk across the grassy pitch in Sarah Flint heels.
Now, anyone who’s ever donned a pair of stilettos will know that navigating across uneven surfaces is no easy feat.
Whenever Kate Middleton has to do something similar, she’ll pop on a pair of trainers, but Meghan opted to stick with heels.
In fact, since her engagement to Prince Harry, we haven’t seen the Duchess in anything but high heels or heeled boots.
The reason? Her height difference with Prince Harry.
Meghan stands at 5ft 6in, while Harry towers over her at 6ft 1in – seven inches taller. Meghan chooses to wear a higher heel to avoid creating an ‘unbalanced’ look in pictures.
“Couples with a big height difference look slightly unbalanced in pictures, and often the smaller of the two ends up looking even smaller and is constantly looking up at their partner,” celebrity photographer Glenn Gratton told MailOnline.
“In the case of Harry and Meghan, she will be wearing high heels to maximise her height and shorten the gap if possible.”
