Just as royal watchers were beginning to recover from Meghan Markle’s boundary-breaking messy bun, yet another fashion rebellion has been identified: the princess-to-be was wearing two different types of earrings during her royal visit to Cardiff, Wales, with Prince Harry.
Assuming you’re equipped with smelling salts and are still in a fit state to read, allow us to explain: in her left ear, Ms Markle wore a Gabriela Artigas Triple Shooting Star earring, People reports, and in her right, a Zofia Day Dash ear stud.
Markle has worn the Zofia ear candy before: in fact, she’s wearing them on her October 2017 Vanity Fair cover.
We have to admit, mismatched earrings is a bold fashion choice for anyone, exacting royal standards or not. Is this Markle’s way of saying she has no intention to bow to such backwards protocol? That she will rebel against royal dictates? Or had she simply lost a stud?
More to the point, will she inspire Kate Middleton to take a sartorial risk?
