Since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle has quickly cemented herself in the fashion world, wearing chic and stylish outfits to all her royal engagements, including an unexpected Alexander McQueen suit and that messy bun.
Just like her future sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, everything Meghan wears immediately sells out – one item even crashing the brand’s website entirely.
And, as it turns out, there’s another famous fashionista to thank for Meghan’s chic and understated style: Victoria Beckham.
“They get along well and have been in touch recently,” a source revealed to Vanity Fair. “
“Meghan really likes Victoria’s style and was keen to pick her brains about pulling together a working wardrobe. She loves Victoria’s elegant but smart dresses, so expect her to wear one very soon.”
In fact, the American actress has already worn a Victoria Beckham knit in one of her engagement portraits with Prince Harry.
The two reportedly became friends when Meghan first moved to London, with Victoria recommending all the best beauty places to visit and introducing the future royal to her circles.
“Meghan has been really pleased with Victoria’s beauty recommendations and has her to thank for meeting new friends in London,” a source told The Sun. “Meghan trusts and appreciates her advice.”
“Victoria’s quite proud of the fact that she and Meghan have become chummy and seems to want people to know they are friends,” the source continued. “Of course, if Meghan wears one of her outfits it will be great for business.”
