Olympia Of Greece Trades A Crown For A Capucines In Louis Vuitton’s Latest Campaign

The Princess is a girl about town.

In Ancient Greece, the Olympian goddess of beauty Aphrodite was forged from sea foam and ruled over mortals who worshipped her for sway over love and lust. Now, a new royal has come to take over her mantle: Princess Olympia of Greece.

The 25-year-old member of the royal family of Greece and Denmark was not born from myth, rather a former Crown Prince and New York City socialite who is now following in her famous families footsteps by cementing her status as the reigning queen of luxury ready-to-wear.

Together with a miniature chocolate dachshund, Olympia sets off around the pastel streets of Notting Hill to unveil Louis Vuitton’s latest must have, the Capucines handbag.

The working woman’s answer to the Hermès Kelly, the architectural top-handle bag has been revitalised in fresh balmy colour ways for the season—how did Nicolas Ghesquière predict Europe’s fashion set needed a new accessory to match the heat wave?

Named after the luxury maison’s first ever boutique on the rue Neuve-des-Capucines in Paris, the bag has come a long way in it’s almost decade long existence. From being Léa Seydoux’s chosen suitor to wake up next to, to joining Miranda Kerr at Los Angeles’ iconic Stahl House and now by the side of a Princess.

For the most recent interpretation, the maison have played into their recent sun saluting Cruise 23 collection with new colourways embossed with shimmering leather that reflect with the light.

The first hue is reminiscent of day break, in a multidimensional yellow and pink tone that the Princess is sure to sport when out for brunch with her famous cousins, designer Princess Talita von Fursternburg and musician Isabel Getty.

The second, aptly titled Lilas is a bluebell and lilac toned purse, perfect for nights out at private members clubs like Annabel’s Mayfair and Knightsbridge’s The Pavillion.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Royal affair without celebrating the new Capucines with a grand soirée fit for the upper echelon of high society. Olympia reigned in the evening with the likes of Stella Jones (model and daughter of The Clash’s guitarist), Ella Richards (Burberry muse and grandaughter of Rolling Stone’s Keith Richards) and fashion influencer Camille Charrière.
