Successful celebrity offspring are a dime a dozen these days, but Big Little Lies star Laura Dern’s 16-year-old son is having a trickier time securing his big break than his peers – because his dad, musician Ben Harper, won’t let him.
Sitting front row at Calvin Klein last night, Ellery Harper revealed he had been asked to walk in the show, but his famous “dad had different opinions.”
“So I’m just here, spectating this,” he told WWD, adding that he was more interested in fashion design than pursuing a career as a model anyway.
Mum Dern then weighed in, explaining that her ex-husband wants their son “to wait a little bit more.”
“Ellery has a great love of Raf [Simons] and is an invited guest of Raf – they have a beautiful connection,” she said.
