When Kourtney Kardashian posted a photo wearing a crop top by Australian brand She Made Me to her 69 m Instagram followers, the Byron Bay-based label struggled to keep up with demand. The style in question – the Rose Crop – sold out within 10 minutes and the previously relatively under-the-radar brand was firmly put on the map.
Since then, It girl Gigi Hadid has been spotted in She Made Me designs and, perhaps even more notably, international fashion favourites, such as Pandora Sykes, Lucy Williams and Anne Laure Mais have given their tick of approval.
And it turns out, that after being introduced via the feeds of Kourtney and Gigi, the world was desperate for high-quality crochet swimwear. So much so that just three years since inception, She Made Me was being stocked on Net-A-Porter, Matches Fashion and Moda Operandi.
With such a high demand for its swim selection, it only makes sense that the brand would expand to clothing, releasing its first ready-to-wear resort line at the end of 2017.
Off the back of the Rose Crop’s cult status, She Made Me reinvented the design in dress form, which takes two weeks to hand make and which was released within its new Resort collection today.
Dunlop suggests fans of the brand get in quick for standout pieces such as the Lia Shirred Blouse and Skirt, the Jaya Midi Dress, which takes over 3 weeks to hand-produce, and the Mana Bandeau and High Waisted Bikini Bottom.
Given how quickly this Aussie label sells out, we won’t be taking our chances. Thank you, After Pay.
