Since returning from maternity leave, the Duchess of Cambridge has been changing up her signature style, wearing on-trend pieces like an off-the-shoulder tweed Erdem dress and accessorising with chic bows in her hair. Many think Kate might’ve taken inspiration from her new sister-in-law, Meghan Markle, who often opts to push the royal boundaries with her wardrobe choices and who has swiftly become one of the most influential women in fashion.
Stepping out today, the mother-of-three wore an outfit that could almost have been taken directly from Meghan’s closet: a blazer paired with wide-legged trousers and pumps.
Arriving on the Mediterranean island base of Akrotiri, Cyprus, Kate wore a Smythe green blazer and matching light green clutch. She paired the pieces with navy trousers and a white shirt.
Of course, Meghan often opts for pants and a blazer over dresses. However, Queen Elizabeth reportedly likes royal women to wear dresses and skirts, something Meghan has apparently been struggling with.
Now that the future queen is firmly on the pants bandwagon alongside Meghan, maybe HRH will have to loosen the reigns.
