Kate Middleton Wore A Real-Life Cinderella Dress To The Palace’s Holiday Party

Complete with Princess Diana's favourite tiara

Kate Middleton is making the most of the festive season, stepping out in top-to-toe sparkles for Buckingham Palace’s reception held by Queen Elizabeth for diplomatic representatives and staff.

For the occasion, the Duchess of Cambridge wore the Lover’s Knot tiara, which was a favourite of the late Princess Diana. Keeping with the sparkle trend, she wore a diamond bracelet and held a sparkly clutch.

Kate’s classic updo showed off her pearl drop earrings, which also belonged to Diana.

For the second time this year, the mother-of-three wore the Royal Family Order, a yellow pin given by Queen Elizabeth to female members of the family as a personal designation. It is extremely rare, represents honour, and is only worn at the most formal of events.

The Duchess last wore the pin in October when she donned an Alexander McQueen dress and tiara for a formal banquet for the Queen and King of the Netherlands at Buckingham Palace. Meghan Markle hasn’t yet had the honour, but given she only joined the royal family in May, we’d say her time is yet to come.
