What was once old, is new again. If Kate Middleton had her own personal slogan, this would definitely be it. The Duchess of Cambridge gave onlookers a serious lesson in sustainable fashion when she re-wore not one, but two of her famous outfits in 24 hours.

Middleton began her outfit marathon with a Catherine Walker double-breasted coat for this year’s Commonwealth Services – a style that has become a signature for the duchess. The picture of elegance, she teamed the coatdress with a red felt cocktail hat by Sally Ann Provan, complimented of course, by a pair of suede Gianvito Rossi heels and clutch purse in matching burgundy.
Kate first donned this timeless outfit on Christmas Day at Sandringham in 2018, which she attended alongside her husband, Prince William, Prince Charles, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
In true Kate fashion, her killer looks didn’t stop there. An avid fan of brand Jenny Packman, the duchess brought back a vibrant blue, beaded gown she originally wore during her and Prince William’s royal tour of India in 2016.
A fitting ensemble to celebrate the organisation Place2be’s 25th anniversary at Buckingham Palace, Kate paired the stunning gown with a matching beaded clutch, chandelier earrings and her freshly cut, new hairstyle in its usual, bouncy waves.
The duchess also made a rare speech on the night, touching on the organisation’s passionate efforts over the years and sharing her personal connection with it.
“Place2Be was one of the first charities I became Patron of. I knew it was special then, but having spent many years since, learning about the importance of childhood development, I see even more the value in the work that you do and I am hugely grateful for all that you have taught me over the past seven years,” said Kate during her address.
“You taught me, right from the start, that the children in your schools are only as happy and emotionally strong as the adults in their care. That is why you take such great pride in the work you do with your teachers and your parents.”
Kate’s two events follow a busy three-day-tour around Ireland with Prince William, where she also turned heads in a plethora of headline-worthy outfits. From an emerald green metallic evening gown, to vintage pink and black polka-dot Oscar de la Renta, the duchess has proved time and time again why she’s one of the most admired fashion muses of the 21st century.
