Kate Middleton is putting her own twist on traditional fashion during her Royal Tour of Pakistan. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived at the Pakistani Air Force Base Nur Khan on October 14 to begin their five-day tour of the country.

Monday, October 14
Kate arrived in Pakistan in a blue bespoke dress and matching pants. The ombre look, featuring a draped neckline, is inspired by the traditional shalwar kameez, a lightweight outfit that pairs a loose-fitting tunic top with pants underneath. The look was very similar to one Princess Diana wore during her solo visit to Pakistan in 1996. Kate’s outfit was by Catherine Walker, one of her go-to designers that was also a favorite of Princess Diana.

For her first outfit of day two, Kate wore a royal blue shalwar kameez – the country’s national dress – and a dupatta by Pakistani designer Maheen Khan. She completed the look with a pair of beige flats and statement gold earrings.

For a meeting with Pakistan’s prime minister, the Duchess of Cambridge changed into an emerald green tunic by Catherine Walker over cream pants from Pakistani designer Maheen Khan. She wore a printed green scarf by Satrangi and earrings by Pakistani jewellery designer Zeen.

For her last look of the day, Kate wore a stunning floor-length green sequined gown by Jenny Packham. She wore her hair half up, half down and accessorised with statement earrings.

For a day spent at the Hindu Kush mountain range, the Duchess wore a brown top, waistcoat, suede midi skirt, and Spanish boots, accessorised with Missoma earrings.
Thursday, October 17
For a casual game of cricket, Kate wore a white custom shalwar kameez by Pakistani brand Gul Ahmed with her go-to sneakers: white Keds. Earlier in the day, the Duchess accessorised the looks with nude pumps and her Mulberry clutch.

To visit the Badshahi Mosque, Kate wore a stunning turquoise Shalwar Kameez by Maheen Khan with a gold trim and a matching headscarf. Keeping with tradition, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge walked barefoot into the iconic Islamic site. 28 years ago, Princess Diana visited the same location wearing a green coat dress by Catherine Walker — a favourite designer of Kate’s as well — and a headscarf.
