It’s no secret that Kate Middleton knows how to rock a royally appropriate ensemble better than most, but what tends to catch our eye more so than the glitz and glamour of beaded gowns and sparkly Jimmy Choo’s are the duchesses enviable and ultra-chic off-duty looks.

Though they are few and far between, Kate’s ability to keep things casual, while still managing to look so incredibly put together is a skill we are yet to master. So, when the duchess was seen stepping out in London earlier this week looking effortlessly fabulous during a casual shopping run, you bet we took notice.
According to the Daily Mail, the Duchess of Cambridge was paying a visit to U.K. bookstore, Waterstones – not far from Kensington Palace – reportedly on the hunt for “history and military-themed books for children,” we assume, for Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
Kate dressed perfectly for the low-key errand, sporting a chic baby blue Mulberry overcoat, matching knit turtleneck, dark-wash skinny jeans, black leather loafers, and a cross-body bag.
Her toned back style is a significant change from the rather formal looks she’s been donning over the last couple of weeks. The duchess was recently on tour with her husband, Prince William, in Ireland, where she wore a number of show-stopping ‘fits, including a suitably-emerald green gown from royal-favourite, The Vampires Wife.
Before we knew it, the duchess was back in England to reunite with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for Commonwealth Day, where Kate elegantly recycled a wine-coloured, double-breasted coatdress from designer Catherine Walker; which she originally wore on Christmas Day in 2018. She really can do no wrong.
