Kate Middleton Has Spent A Pretty Crazy Amount Of Money On Clothes This Year Already

Being a royal style muse doesn't come cheap.

If the first four months of the year are anything to go by, 2017 looks to be the Duchess of Cambridge’s most expensive year of fashion yet.

The stylish mother-of-two makes headlines for her on point outfit choices nearly every time she steps outside, often spotted in top-to-toe custom-made designer clothes, including (but certainly not limited to) Alexander McQueen, Chanel and Erdem.

And while you’d be quick to assume that most of the Duchesses outfits would be gifts from fashion houses, hoping to spot her in their designs, you would be wrong.

According to Marie Claire UK, Kate refuses to accept any freebies and insists on paying full price for items.

Which, looking at the past few months alone, would certainly rack up the credit card bill.

The Daily Mail took it upon themselves to figure out exactly how big Kate’s spending figure for the year (so far) is, and after breaking down the cost of every single outfit the Duchess has worn in 2017 – not including pieces she already owned – came to the whopping sum of $95,500 AUD (translated from their figure of £57,346).

Let’s not forget, we’re only halfway through April here.

If Kate’s fashion frenzy continues in the same way, the report concludes this year will be her “most expensive yet,” after tallying up 2016’s spend to around $290,000 AUD.
