Princess Charlotte has officially joined her big brother, Prince George, at school. The four-year-old was accompanied by her mum, dad and brother to as she walked into Thomas’s Battersea in London for her first day at the prestigious primary school on Thursday.
While Charlotte and George were dressed in their adorable matching school uniforms, Prince William wore a blue shirt and blazer with brown pants and boots and Kate Middleton opted for a Michael Kors dress with a blue floral print that was perfectly coordinated with the navy-trimmed, red sweaters of her children’s uniforms.
The dress, which Kate first wore to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding rehearsal, was a quiet nod to Princess Diana, who wore a very similar floral dress in 1992 to visit a friend at St. Mary’s Hospital – you can see the image here. Of course, this isn’t the first time Kate has used fashion to pay tribute to her late mother-in-law, the royal often wears Diana’s own jewellery and accessories and opts for designers Diana favoured.
But Kate wasn’t the only one to consider her look for the momentous day: Princess Charlotte added a personal touch to her outfit with the addition of a sequined unicorn keychain on her school bag.
Another royal fashionista in the making? We’d say yes.
